As official media partners of Infosecurity Europe, the EM360Tech team attended the event on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, to interview IT leadership from across the cybersecurity industry.
In this vox pop, Shubhangi Dua, Podcast Host and Tech Journalist at EM360Tech, interviews Joseph Byrne, Solutions Engineer, Vanta. Byrne addresses the impact of AI regulations during an exciting technological developmental period in cybersecurity.
While there is not yet a complete understanding of where AI is heading, the central goal is to find a balance between fostering innovation and implementing necessary compliance and governance.
“We’re trying to balance the innovation with compliance,” Byrne tells Dua. “I’m excited about finding the balance with them for greater things, but do them with governance.”
Alluding to the challenges, he says that change is omnipresent. “If we have our set of regulations and standards which are constantly evolving, so what compliance means now may not mean the same thing in a year.”
“Enterprises and the industry as a whole need to adapt to those changes and be ready for them. It's not a one-and-done; it's a program, not a project.”
The biggest challenge is that it's never complete and you're always having to do more. Byrne added that we’re always having to look at what's coming next.
