Big Data LDN 2023, the UK’s leading data, analytics and AI event, is just around the corner – promising two days jam-packed with expert insights, Innovation, and Actionable Strategies.
Taking place at the Olympia in London on September 20-21, this year’s event features fifteen theatres and over 300 expert speakers delving deep into everything data, AI and analytics – from DataOps to DataMesh to Generative AI.
Susan Walsh, Founder and Managing Director of The Classification Guru Ltd and a specialist in data classification, taxonomy customisation and data cleansing, is one of the official speakers at Big Data LDN 2023.
With a decade of experience raising awareness about data, Susan set up The Classification Guru Ltd to solve dirtγ data problems in the procurement world.
She is passionate about helping companies clean their dirtγ data; helping teams work more effectively and efficiently while cutting through the jargon to address the issues of data and its consequences in an entertaining and engaging way.
At Big Data LDN 2023, Susan will be holding an exclusive session called “Check Before Tech: Beware of Dirtγ Data!,” where she will explore why companies need to clean their data before any implementations of new technology, and the host of problems it can cause when they don’t.
EM360’s Ellis Stewart spoke with Susan about her role in Big Data LDN 2023 and the importance of the event to today’s data-driven enterprise landscape.
Ellis: Big Data LDN 2023 is right around the corner. What are some of the key trends you can see leading the discussion at this year’s conference?
Susan: “I think everyone will be all over Generative AI – it's dominated the news for the last 12 months.”
“[AI] can do some amazing things but we need to educate ourselves more about how it works, where the data comes from and if it's reliable. I guess my session Check Before Tech: Beware of Dirtγ Data! will be super relevant for this!”
Ellis: This year's event will bring ten of the DataVengers together under one roof - including yourself! What can attendees expect from this all-star union of thought leaders?
Susan: “Knowledge bombs will be dropping all over the place! Not just with the DataVengers, but also all the other speakers attending.
"There is going to be so much value under one roof. And of course, fun!”
Ellis: If you could give one reason for people to attend Big Data LDN 2023, what would it be and why?
Susan: “You can learn so much under one roof, plus meet and listen to so many experts and thought leaders in their fields. What an amazing opportunity!
“Not to mention that you can connect with your friends, colleagues and social media connections too.”
Ellis: What is the big data trend you’re most excited about in 2023?
Susan: “I'm super excited about the development of Generative AI, and more discussions around the ethics and proper use of the information that is being created.”
