In this interview, Shubhangi Dua, Podcast Host, Producer and B2B Tech Journalist at EM360Tech, speaks to Sanjeev Mohan, Principal at SanjMo and former Gartner and Author of Designing the AI-Driven Data Foundations: Architecture, Principles, and Practice.
“I’m seeing a transformation in terms of how many products are built on AI, which is refreshing,” Mohan tells Dua, alluding to what the exhibitors are showcasing at BDL this year.
When Dua asked about the biggest shift in the tech industry that CEOs are not seeing enough of in big data, Mohan tells Dua about a term: “capability over hang.” It means “the power of AI now exceeds human imagination, and we are using a small portion of its capabilities.”
“CEO’s should look at AI with an open mind. AI is not a replacement for the good old deterministic SQL queries. It has the power to really transform every aspect of a business,” he added.
This is why CEOs need to unlearn their traditional approaches and rethink their AI strategy.
One thing that people get wrong in enterprise management is the “AI stack.” Mohan tells Dua that there’s no AI stack, but there is a “tech stack.”
“There’s only one stack with data as the foundation, and AI is on top of it,” the former Gartner Research VP says, adding that it's a wrong move when someone equates AI governance to data governance.
