As official media partners of Infosecurity Europe, the EM360Tech team attended the event on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, to interview IT leadership from across the cybersecurity industry.
In this vox pop, Shubhangi Dua, Podcast Host and Tech Journalist at EM360Tech, interviews James Savory, Regional Vice President - UK & Ireland, at Island. Savory echoes a fundamental question teams are currently grappling with – how to enable the adoption of AI without introducing new vulnerabilities.
When asked about the challenges plaguing the cybersecurity industry, Savory tells Dua: “It’s a mesh of enterprise leaders asking their companies to drive AI adoption and cyber teams and CISOs that are having to try and control that adoption.”
“There’s an inflexion point between the two that are trying to work out how do we go fast but securely,” the Regional Island VP added. “At Infosec, that message is reiterated time and time.”
Island approaches secure AI adoption by collapsing the controls directly into the space where users interact with the applications and controls using the AI agent or the AI service LLM.
“Because the browser is identity-aware, context-aware, and intent-aware, married with the controls Island puts in enterprises can govern what happens there,” Savory tells Dua. “We enable users to safely adopt AI while stopping the bad things.”
When it comes to Agent AI automation, identity becomes critical. He says that Identity is important, but the next is intent or understanding what the intent is.
“Being able to observe the agent or the user at the point they’re undertaking actions is going to be critical.”
