In this interview, Shubhangi Dua, Podcast Host, Producer and B2B Tech Journalist at EM360Tech, speaks to Joe Beaubien, Sr. Director, Outbound Product Management - Analytics Field CTO, at Big Data LDN 2026 at Kensington Olympia, London.
Some exciting things to note on the BDL show floor are how enterprises are dealing with governance and semantic layers that are feeding agentic actions.
CEO driving this AI innovation, Beaubien says, has to be AI-ready, of course, but they are missing “human interpretation to act and make decisions on those agentic actions.
“The human element is going to become more important as we dive deeper into AI strategies and projects that CEOs are driving nowadays,” he says.
When asked about what the tech industry is getting wrong about AI, Beaubien emphasises that the tech industry is underestimating the essential need for human interpretation and proper data governance in AI implementation.
“A lot of people are talking about governance, but I don’t see anyone really implementing it in their platforms,” the director adds. Governance, “is one of the biggest gaps we’re going to have to overcome before AI can truly off.”
