The highly-anticipated International Cyber Expo 2024 is right around the corner, promising two days of innovation and collaboration

Taking place on 24-25 September 2024 at the Kensington Olympia in London, the event is set to welcome over 6,500 top-tier cyber security experts and professionals from around the world.

With 170+ top exhibitors on the floor, you’ll discover cutting-edge cyber defence technologies and solutions that address your most complex security challenges.

There’s also the Global Cyber Summit, featuring expert insights from renowned speakers, the Tech Hub Stage, and the all-new Diversity & Skills Stage that explores the future of cyber security careers and strategies for creating a more inclusive industry.

As official media partners of The International Cyber Expo, the EM360Tech team will be there to speak to experts attending and cover the excitement of the two-day conference.

With the event happening this week, we spoke to Rachael Shattock, Event Director at International Cyber Expo, about her expectations for this year’s event and its growing importance in the cybersecurity world.

Ellis: The International Cyber Expo 2024 is right around the corner. What are you most excited about?

Rachael: This year is filled with so many highlights. With over 100 speakers and 170 exhibitors, it's tough to narrow it down to just a few. However, I'm thrilled to be back on the show floor, surrounded by the industry's leading innovators, security teams, and our ever-growing international community.

We've assembled an exceptional lineup of speakers, featuring top government officials and influential leaders from the private sector, spread across three stages. In addition, we're excited to welcome back The CrisisCast Immersive Demonstrator, along with popular highlights from past years such as the "Grab the Mic: Women in Cyber" event and our four pavilions.

International Cyber Expo is a truly collaborative event, showcasing the very best the industry has to offer.

Ellis: What can attendees expect from attending the expo?

Rachael: Visitors can expect to experience first hand some of the greatest new technological advancements in the field of cyber, as well as hear from some of the leading voices in the industry on a range of topics, from AI and geopolitics to cyber resilience. The Tech Hub Stage will also allow visitors the chance to interact with technical experts directly, allowing them to ask questions and gain insight into the latest cutting-edge tech on the market.

Attendees can also take time away from the showfloor to enjoy The Cyber Wellbeing Corner, a space specifically curated, based on scientific research, to promote relaxation. This will, no doubt, be a welcome break for many, as the showfloor is set to be packed with things to get involved with.

Ellis: As the Event Director, what key trends do you see emerging at this year’s event?

Rachael: The overarching theme of this year’s International Cyber Expo (and the co-located International Security Expo) is resilience. We noticed, as we’ve been curating the different agendas of our three main conference stages, that ‘resilience’ runs through every aspect of the show. This year’s Global Cyber Summit, curated by the team at SASIG (informed by their 10,000 strong membership), for example, focuses on how organisations can be resilient in the face of emerging technologies (like AI), geopolitical tensions, and the truly international context of cyber.

People are another key pillar of resilience. The industry has long faced challenges with burnout and skills shortages, and it's clear that people want to address these issues. This year, we're introducing a Diversity and Skills Stage for the first time, featuring talks and panel discussions focused on upskilling, wellbeing, and diversity. To further support professionals, The Cyber Wellbeing Corner, in partnership with The Zensory, is returning in 2024. This dedicated space offers a chance for individuals to step away from the daily grind and recalibrate.

Finally, the importance of community in cyber continues to be a trend. We’re proud to be an event curated by the community, for the community. In times of change, we need each other.

Ellis: Are there any stand-out talks or presentations you can’t wait to see?

Rachael: There are many exciting highlights, but a few stand out. I’m particularly looking forward to Ian Andrews, Vice Chair of the National Preparedness Committee, delivering a keynote at the Global Cyber Summit on enhancing national preparedness for cybersecurity threats. In the age of escalating cyber threats, preparedness is key for all security leaders.

At the same summit, I’m eager to hear from Agata Samojlowicz, Deputy Challenge Director at Digital Security by Design, UK Research and Innovation, who will discuss building ‘Digital Secure by Design.’ This session will be chaired by the esteemed Ciaran Martin CB, Oxford University Professor and former CEO of the National Cyber Security Centre.

On day one, we’re also excited to host a breakfast session with the InClusive InCyber team. This networking event and panel discussion, focusing on the important topic of risk-taking for security leaders, will kick off two days of engaging talks on the Diversity and Skills stage.

Finally, I’m thrilled about the return of the popular "Grab the Mic" session for the second consecutive year, led by the fantastic team at Assured. They’ll be exploring the question: can women in cyber truly have it all? Audience members will also have the opportunity to share their own experiences after the panel discussion, and allies are encouraged to join in.

Ellis: What is the importance of cybersecurity events within the cybersecurity community?

Rachael: It’s so important that the community comes together and events like International Cyber Expo are the best place to do it. Not only does this spark connections and aid creativity, events like these are a hub of innovation. For visitors, they can hear from industry leaders, attend meetings and network, and learn about the cybersecurity solutions that will make their organisations safer, all in one place.

Community is at the core of everything we do at the Nineteen Group. We want to build an event that truly reflects the needs and wants of the industry and its leaders.
