EM360’s Ellis Stewart spoke with George about his role in Big Data LDN 2023 and the importance of the event in today’s modern, data-driven enterprise landscape.

Ellis: Big Data LDN 2023 is right around the corner. What are some of the key trends you can see leading the discussion at this year’s conference?

George: “One of the prominent trends that I anticipate leading the discussion at this year's conference is the convergence of different data management areas, business needs and artificial intelligence (AI).

“Organizations are increasingly leveraging AI and machine learning techniques to extract valuable insights from vast amounts of data and now even more so with LLMs making a big wave. Additionally, the responsible use of data and the emphasis on data ethics and privacy will likely be a significant topics of discussion.

As data is seen more and more critical for businesses, ensuring its security, governance, and compliance will also be a key focus.

"With the growing adoption of cloud technologies and the pressure that leadership is seeing from adopting LLMs into different workflows, discussions on how AI is revolutionizing data management, data observability, and data governance are bound to be a highlight at the event.”

Ellis: The event will bring ten of the DataVengers together under one roof – including yourself! What can attendees expect from this all-star union of thought leaders?

George: “Attendees can look forward to a captivating and enriching experience with the DataVengers coming together.

"This union of thought leaders will bring diverse perspectives, unique experiences, and in-depth knowledge throughout the different sessions and panels they will be part of or just up and about interacting with the attendees and vendors.

“If you see us on the floor, feel free to stop us to say "hi", make a new friend, or just take a selfie with us. We love to meet fellow professionals in real-life or online :)."

Ellis: If you could give one reason for people to attend Big Data LDN 2023, what would it be and why?

George: "The prime reason for people to attend Big Data LDN 2023 is the unparalleled learning opportunity it offers."

"The event brings together top experts and influencers from the data management, analytics, and AI space, as well as vendors with cutting-edge services, providing attendees with a comprehensive and diverse knowledge pool.

Whether you're a data professional, business executive, or IT expert, Big Data LDN's dynamic mix of strategic guidance and technical insights ensures that you'll leave with actionable takeaways to drive success in your data projects.

The chance to network with industry leaders and fellow professionals makes it an invaluable experience for anyone seeking to stay ahead in the ever-evolving world of big data.

Ellis: What is the big data trend you’re most excited about in 2023?

George: "One trend that truly excites me in 2023 is the rise of data democratization. As data governance practices mature, organizations are empowering non-technical users with self-service data access and analytics capabilities.

"This trend allows business users to explore data and make data-driven decisions without heavy reliance on IT or data teams. When done right, data democratization can unlock a wealth of insights and innovative ideas from every corner of the organization, driving overall growth and efficiency.

"I'm eager to see how companies implement and manage this trend responsibly to foster a culture of data-driven decision-making at all levels."
