Affordable Care, a leading U.S. dental support organization serving more than 400 practices nationwide, partnered with Observe.AI to modernize its customer service operations through the deployment of agentic VoiceAI technology. Seeking a more flexible and effective alternative to its traditional interactive voice response (IVR) system, Affordable Care selected Observe.AI’s VoiceAI Agents based on an existing relationship and proven success with the company’s conversation intelligence platform. The organization successfully launched its first AI agent, “Beth,” within just two weeks.
The implementation focused initially on handling high-volume, repetitive inquiries such as office locations, business hours, appointment scheduling, and practice directions. Beth achieved a 95% containment rate, resolving the vast majority of inquiries without requiring escalation to a live representative. More than 90% of callers who interacted with the AI agent achieved first-call resolution, significantly improving customer experience while reducing operational burden. The initiative also generated substantial efficiency gains, freeing approximately 2,000 agent hours per month and allowing staff to focus on more complex, value-driven patient interactions.
The deployment was guided by insights from Observe.AI’s post-interaction analytics platform, which helped identify optimal automation opportunities. Early results demonstrated that callers readily accepted AI-assisted support, with 95% of callers seeking directions choosing not to escalate to a human agent. As a result, agents were able to spend more time building patient trust, supporting treatment decisions, and contributing to business growth.
Encouraged by these outcomes, Affordable Care is exploring additional applications for VoiceAI Agents, including proactive outreach to no-show patients, treatment follow-ups, and appointment reminders. The organization views AI not merely as a cost-saving tool but as a transformative capability that enhances both patient experience and workforce effectiveness while supporting long-term operational scalability.
