“Openness is the key theme I’m seeing here,” Jane Smith, Field Chief Data & AI Officer of ThoughtSpot, tells Shubhangi Dua, Podcast Host & Tech Journalist, EM360Tech at Big Data LDN 2025.
“Open auditive models, open participation and being a collaborator of AI rather than just a consumer – to sum it up in a word, openness,” added Smith when asked about the key observations at the Data event of the year.
The key message for those who couldn’t make it to BDL this year, Smith says that everything is moving rapidly. From the announcement of the MCP protocol in 2024 to Google’s announcement of the A2A protocol and then recently Snowflake’s announcement of the Open Semantic Interchange (OSI) protocol, “keep your eyes to the ground because it’s moving at a pace,” she said.
