Amanda Finch, CEO at the Chartered Institute of Information Security
Joining us for this week’s Ask the Expert is Amanda Finch, CEO at the Chartered Institute of Information Security (IISP). Amanda has a rich background in information security, spanning almost 30 years. Furthermore, she is a Fellow of the British Computer Society and Full and founder Membership of the IISP.
In this podcast, Amanda walks us through the IISP’s recent research into security professionals. In particular, she details the findings of the research and what this indicates about the cybersecurity landscape today. Amanda also delves into cybersecurity education and why it needs improving. As well as this, there’s no avoiding the pressing matter that is the skills shortage. Amanda lends her expertise on how organisations can incentivise staff to stay. However, it’s not all doom and gloom; the research identified that over 60% of IT professionals think the industry is improving at dealing with security incidents. Amanda explores why she thinks this is, before sharing her predictions for the future.
