CxO of the Week: David Kenny, CEO and Chief Diversity Officer at Nielsen

Nielsen is the world-renowned information, data, and analytics firm offering in-depth insights into IT and business transformation. Since 2018, the man leading this firm has been David Kenny, a veteran of artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing, and big data. As CEO and Chief Diversity Officer for Nielsen, David is an influential and inspirational figure in the technology world.

Before Nielsen, Kenny already had a rich background in the industry. He had acted as a Transformational President and CEO of Digitas, Publicis, The Weather Company, Akamai, and IBM.

An Expert in Business Transformation David Kenny has spent his impressive career exploring the various unique avenues of AI, data science, machine learning, and cloud technologies. With a focus on the marketing, media, and retail sectors, Kenny has developed a deep, comprehensive understanding of the marketplace. Before Nielsen, Kenny served as SVP of IBM, overseeing the company’s AI initiatives and experiments with machine learning and Watson. Prior to IBM, David was the Chairman and CEO of The Weather Company, which was eventually purchased by IBM. During his diverse career, Kenny has held roles as the Director of Yahoo! Inc, the President of Akamai Technologies, and the CEO of Digitas Classic.

He also currently serves on the Board of Directors for Teach for America and Best Buy. A Diverse and Inspiring Career From a partnership with Bain & Company to a director position at the Publicis Groupe, Kenny has had plenty of experiences to help him develop his skills over the years. Since he earned his bachelor’s degree in industrial administration from the GM Institute, and his MBA from the Harvard Business School, David has never stopped growing.
